I just wanted to express what a wonderful product the Dog Watch Fence has been for us.  The dogs were escaping several times a week despite having an electric fence (above ground), they had been caught in snares, and on two different occasions came back with cuts requiring stitches, and they were also gone twice for several days at a time.  Our dogs are like our children and this made us sick with worry, not to mention the vet bills. We decided that we wanted an underground fence. 

I talked to Chuck a couple times on the phone before he came to our house; he was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.  The biggest reasons for going with Dog Watch were the 2 year battery life, the lifetime warranty and the way Chuck worked with us.  He came out and we showed him where we wanted the fence.  He gave us an estimate and I felt it was a fair price for the system and 4 collars.  We had it installed and started training immediately.

We followed the manual to a T because we so desperately wanted it to work.  3 of our 4 dogs picked up on it immediately and did not want to go anywhere near the fence, the other one took some additional training (tip: we ended up painting the fence “line” with neon orange spray paint, in addition to the flags, she then picked up on it really quickly and the lines went away over time). 

We’ve now had the system for over a year and it is one of the best investments we have ever made.  Our dogs have not run away once since getting the fence.  They are also calmer (because they have such a large area to run around in).  We put our fence around our pond, so they are able to go swimming in the hot summers (yes the collars are waterproof).  We also feel more secure since we live in the country and I feel like people are less likely to break into our home with the dogs in the yard.  The dogs know exactly where their boundaries are now and take full advantage of all of their space in the yard.
